Efficient solutions for loading and unloading containers: Griptech sets new standards
Loading and unloading containers presents numerous challenges for logistics companies. Limited lifting heights, differently sized pallets and the need for precise weighing of containers are just some of the hurdles that must be overcome. Griptech, a leading provider of innovative solutions in this field, offers a wide range of products that make this process not only easier but also more efficient. Here are some of Griptech's pioneering solutions that can be considered depending on a company's specific needs.
KOOI®Lifting fork carrier LFC: Maximum flexibility with limited lifting height
One of the biggest challenges when loading and unloading containers is the limited height of the lifting mast, which is determined by the container. KOOI® Mast Height Extension from Griptech offers a unique solution here. The KOOI®Lifting Fork Carrier LFC is characterized by its innovative design, in which the lifting cylinders are integrated into the guide profiles. This arrangement makes it possible to place the actual lifting fork carrier between the two lifting profiles, which only slightly increases the front dimension and always ensures the horizontal position of the two forks. In addition, the original forks can be easily attached and manually adjusted. This attachment not only enables a free lift, but also an additional lift. This makes it easier to access high shelves in warehouses without the need for an expensive four-fold lifting frame. Inside the container, the free lift provided by the KOOI®Lifting Fork Carrier LFC offers the possibility of lifting the fork carrier without having to extend the mast. This significantly optimizes the efficiency and safety when loading and unloading containers.
Shift2end: Precise handling of pallets at the container edge
For loading and unloading containers with palletized goods, Griptech offers the innovative Tine adjustment Shift2end with full sideshift to the left and right. This solution makes it possible to move pallets effortlessly at the edge of the container, even if they have different dimensions. The Shift2end solution ensures the safe transport of both narrow and wide pallets and thus makes a significant contribution to the efficiency of container loading and unloading. As an optimal attachment for forklifts, the Shift2end fork adjustment is not only ideal for loading containers, but also for loading and unloading trucks.
The combination of fork adjustment and increased sideshift makes this attachment a universal tool for forklifts. It allows the handling of extremely narrow and wide pallets without limiting the driver's maneuverability. This ensures that the driver has enough space to maneuver without touching the outside walls of the container or truck, minimizing the risk of damage and making the entire loading process more efficient and safer.
Pallet turning device PKK: Efficient handling without load carriers
If you do not use load carriers when transporting goods in containers, you not only save space, but also weight and therefore money.
Griptech also offers a solution to facilitate the loading and unloading of containers without load carriers. Pallet turning device PKK with integrated pusher enables containers to be loaded with a forklift within 20 minutes.
The PKK pallet turning device can be used to easily handle a wide variety of goods, be it bagged goods, boxes or other clampable products. The process begins with the goods being picked up together with the pallet. The load is then turned and finally pushed into the container without the pallet (upside down).
This approach not only offers significant time savings, but also enables space-saving loading, as bulky load carriers are not required. This solution offers a significant time advantage over stationary pallet turning devices and a high degree of flexibility in choosing the location of use.

KOOI®RollenGabeln: Optimized transport on slipsheets
For the transport of goods on slipsheets instead of pallets, Griptech offers the KOOI®RollersForks These specialized forks can be attached to all common forklifts with ISO/FEM fork carriages and enable the efficient transport of products placed on a slipsheet.
Slipsheets offer the advantage that they are up to 80% cheaper to purchase, take up less space and less weight in the container or truck, require 98% less internal storage space compared to pallets and do not require return transport. They also reduce administration costs and disposal costs, which are incurred with disposable pallets.
Products that are on slip sheets can be placed on conventional pallets and stored in shelves, provided they have a flat bottom. For external transport, the load can be removed from adapted pallets with entry openings for the KOOI®RollenForks and loaded into containers or trucks, whereby the special pallet is retained for further internal use.
In addition, the KOOI®RollenForks can be equipped with a clamping slide or a Push-Pull device GEQP to further optimize the transport of goods on slipsheets. These solutions transform any forklift truck into a specialized slipsheet handling device in seconds and enable easy and efficient container loading.
TC3000-RS: Precise weighing for maximum safety
Another important aspect when loading and unloading containers is the total weight of the container. SOLAS Convention requires that the gross weight of each container must be determined before shipment to ensure safety and stability during the voyage. The hydraulic weighing system TC3000-RS from Griptech meets these requirements to the highest degree and offers a precise solution for weighing containers.

Safe container loading: The CTU code for maximum transport safety
Loading containers requires strict adherence to important guidelines that ensure safety. The parties involved often have different priorities: the shipper wants to pack as much goods as possible into the container, while the shipowner needs to ensure that the permissible total weight is not exceeded. Errors in weight distribution, inadequate load securing or overloading can not only damage the goods, but also endanger the stability of the ship. Poorly stacked containers can fall into the sea during a storm, posing a significant danger to shipping as they float just below the water surface and are difficult to see.To ensure safe loading of transport units such as containers, the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) have developed the "Code of Practice for Packing of Cargo Transport Units" (CTU Code). This guide provides freight forwarders and shippers with detailed instructions on how cargo should be properly stowed and secured in containers to ensure safety during transport.
